While Tutankhamun’s reign was short and relatively uneventful, he became famous in modern times due to the discovery of his nearly intact tomb in 1922. He ascended to the throne at a young age and worked to restore the traditional Egyptian religion after the Amarna period. His reign marked the beginning of the restoration of the old order.
